At 29 I suffered a slipped disc that required surgery and at one point left me unable to walk. After a long rehab journey I recovered well, but in my early 40s I started experiencing recurring disc issues again which was pretty devastating after coming back so strong. I was introduced to Rohan and within a short period of time he has helped me become completely pain free again. I’ve been training with Rohan for six months, and the changes have been remarkable. Migraines are rare, long-standing neck, jaw, and shoulder pain have gone, hip issues I thought were just part of getting older have disappeared, and my posture is much more upright. What sets Rohan apart is how clearly he explains each exercise and why it matters, making it easy to practise at home. I’ve never met a trainer who is so generous with their knowledge or so focused on empowering you to help yourself to wellness. Every session is thoughtful, intentional, and focused on real, lasting change for the whole body. At 56, after trying Pilates, yoga, one-to-one gym training, and more, nothing compares to these results. I used to think aches and postural issues were just part of getting older — but you can genuinely improve your body at any age. If you’re considering FP training, I can’t recommend trying a session with Rohan highly enough.
Rohan is an excellent functional patterns trainer.I have been training with him for 6 months and have gained significant knowledge on how to train to improve strength, but in the correct way to promote better posture, long term fitness and prevent pain. Having previously done gym workouts and PT, I find these sessions considerably more valuable. Week on week we do varied exercises which are challenging but he encourages me to keep going in a safe way. He is also very observant on the precision of the exercises and makes sure they are done correctly. He educates and provides reasoning which is key to making a difference to training at home and day to day.I have gained strength and confidence and feel much better physically and mentally since training with Rohan. Having suffered with chronic sacro-iliac pain for the last 4 years, I was recommended Functional Patterns by chance and have been working with Rohan now for 3 months. I had been to countless osteopaths, chiropractors, physiotherapists, and even a back surgeon, and no one was able to provide any relief to the discomfort. Yet in my very first introductory session with Rohan, he immediately identified the issue and started to adjust my resting and moving posture. It is clear that Rohan is immensely knowledgeable in his field, and seems to have an endless array of exercises for us to work with, building week on week, so that training together is always different and interesting. The movements are often challenging but always in a way that feels totally safe due to his incredibly precise instruction, and eagle eyes! In the studio we work with a whole range of equipment, but Rohan has also taught me numerous exercises that require no equipment that I can practice at home or on holiday. I really like that he encourages and educates me to practice independently too and to get to feel for myself as to what constitutes healthy alignment and movement. I also love how the exercises mimic every day movements so that I am gradually re-wiring my everyday posture and gait. I’m genuinely awestruck by the difference training with Rohan has made in such a short time. I would say I was in pain 90% of the time before meeting him, and it’s already less than 10% now. Furthermore, for the first time, I now know what exercises to do to release it if it flares. I’m already doing movements I haven’t done in years and it’s so exciting to feel my world re-expanding again, week on week. I cannot recommend learning Functional Patterns with Rohan highly enough. Rohan is an amazing functional patterns trainer! He listens to my requirements and how these can be applied to get the best outcome in a safe way. In the 4 months that I have trained with him, he has really brought out the best in me. He does push me but in a way that is very motivating and encouraging. I would definitely recommend giving Rohan and functional patterns a go - I absolutely love the sessions and enjoy the agility and strength of the body.
In the few months of training with rohan my chronic back, knee pain and ankle reduced. My core strength increased along with glute and hamstring strength. Standing for long periods which my job involves on some days got easier after sessions with rohan. Mobility in my overall body also improved. Rohans knowledge of the functional patterns system and the body as a whole is great, learnt ways of the body functions in different ways. Never would have thought such simple exercises would make such a difference. Rohans instructing is brilliant, from the way he tells from where adjustments need to be made shows the importance of having to go to him. Would recommend to anyone looking to make improvements and get rid of chronic pain to make contact with rohan and start on the functional patterns journey.
Rohan is a genuine specialist. He has an eye for detailed movement and mobility - by the millimetre! He also explains the theory of biomechanics clearly. For me, it's been an eye opener and I'm extremely glad and grateful to be training with him.
I’ve been training with Rohan for around 4 months and he’s knowledgeable and motivated. He’s patient while you’re doing the exercises and focuses on the details so that every rep is precise and accurate. He’s also good at pushing you beyond your limits so you get a lot out of the session.
Rohan is an extremely knowledgeable coach and has delivered very measurable results in a short space of time. After a very informative introductory session in which he demonstrated how the functional patterns method of training can improve posture and movement, I decided to train with him on a regular basis. Most importantly, he tailors the sessions and his approach to complement my martial arts and strength and conditioning background, which have benefitted greatly from his methods. Sorting out niggles and small injuries is an added bonus!
I went for an introductory session with Rohan 2 weeks ago and it was really eye opening. I regularly go to gym classes but this was very different to anything I have experienced before and even after 1 session I could clearly see results. Rohan is very knowledgeable and explains some of the science behind Function Patterns which helped me to understand the movements we were doing. The exercises we did focused on different body parts and were challenging but manageable. I would encourage anyone who wants to try something new and improve their posture, flexibility and strength to give Rohan a try - you won't be disappointed!
